Im trying to get the images i put into a page stay in the places i put them.
Things I have tried
Im using Image Converter for ObsidianMD. it says i should be able to ‘Align (left, right center) and wrap text around images without any custom syntax in your links’ but i dont see what the point of that is if it just resets every time i reload it.
i wish obsidian had a issues tab for the plugins or something. so is there anyway to fix it? this seems like something that shouldn’t even need a plugin so idk if im missing something or not. im still leaning how to use obsidian.
Folks, for sure, ask about issues and debug community plugins here, but community plugin issues are tracked on their GitHub pages. Any comments or workarounds from the developer or the cause?
You’ll need a plugin or a css snippet/css snippets for image alignment, text wrapping around images, etc. It’s not a core feature.
it didnt look like it, just lots of people having issues. some said it was fixed but it doesnt seem like it. evey single time i use it as sooon as i reload its just gone like ive done nothing. i use a lot of pictures in my notes.
ive downloaded css snippets but i have no idea how they work how to make one. i feel like this should be a core feature. every text editor ive every used has somee form of image manipulation.
No text editor I’ve ever used had any form of image manipulation. Are you thinking of word processors?
Text editors (Atom, Sublime Text, Notepad++, NoteTab, Geany, gedit, iA Writer) aren’t generally real concerned with images. They work with text files and markdown, where you can insert a reference to an image. Unlike most of them, Obsidian is kind enough to display the referenced image, and can apply some CSS to it, but these apps aren’t meant to be page layout or image editing software.
welp i do not think obsidian is going to be for me then, which is sad to find out this far in. but i also cant move back to onenote because you have to pay now, and everything else has ai. so :V guess im going to try to find something thats more for images? a word processor? if any of you have any idea id love them.
im not use if i knew there was even a difference between word and text processors? so that’s probably why. whatever onenote had where you could put images anywhere and text wrapped around it so it could look like a real webpage or archive, i use images as much as text in my research and i need it to idk look good at all. i think i used word processor as a kid.
Word processors can be pretty good for laying out a print document, but not a great solution for research and note taking. Obsidian is a great toolkit for linking text notes and other resources, but not for detailed page layout. I wonder if you’d find something entirely different like Walling or Milanote useful. They have free plans with some limits, but they’re pretty generous.
why are they not good at taking notes and research?? that doesnt make any sense to me at all. but honestly i dont understand how ppl can live w just text. and will learn a whole language just to type with text. doesnt make any sense to me. also neither of those seem like they would be any good for research for my brain so yeah :V
