Image attatchments getting corrupted

Screenshots inside notes get swapped. I have a hunch why this is happening.
The pasted images don’t have a unique ID. Instead, they are named Pasted Image1.png
This naming convention works as long as one doesn’t open a sub-folder as a vault. But this is an inevitable part of my workflow.
One can get around it by manually renaming each image file, but this can get in th way.
If we could figure out some manner by which the images are always given a unique ID which doesn’t restart inside each new vault.

Why do you paste images? Why not link to them as per ![[Engelbart.jpg]] as per the help file.

That way there is no corruption and changes to the image file get reflected in you notes.

I paste them because, I was using the Onenote Screen clipper for the deed, and so the images never get stored in the device.
Thanks for the Tip!!!

You’re welcome. Ever since I have been using markdown that is the system I use. The advantage, apart from the one I pointed out, is that the app itself, i.e. Obsidian in this case, does not get weighed down with all those absorbed files.
