Image appears blank when linked

Things I have tried

Hello everyone,

I’m having trouble displaying images in my Obsidian notes. Here’s what’s happening:
1. I successfully upload an image file into my Obsidian vault.
2. I can open and view the image directly within Obsidian without any problems.
3. However, when I try to link the image in a note using ![[image-file-name.png]], it doesn’t appear—it just shows a blank or black space where the image should be. Or shows the half of the image.

The image format is a common type (.png), and I’ve verified that the path is correct. I’ve tried re-uploading, double-checking the link syntax, and even restarting Obsidian, but the issue persists.

The image i can see its uploaded

After i click enter it disseppears or just shows the half of the image.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

  1. What do you mean by “upload”? How are you moving the file into your vault, specifically? Is your vault in some kind of online or cloud storage? What OS?

  2. What do you mean by “view directly”? How are you opening or viewing the image, specifically?

Other than answering those questions, I would suggest pasting your “Show Debug Info” here. And making sure all your plugins, themes, and Obsidian installer are up to date.

Just in case this could be helpful  :

Someone ran into something similar on Discord recently and apparently, the “weight” (> 15 MB) of the image was the issue :woman_shrugging:
