If I subscribe to Sync Standard for a year, can I upgrade to Sync Plus during the year if I need to?

Hi, I couldn’t find an answer to this - the question was asked before, but with no responses.

If I subscribe to the Sync Standard service on the annual plan, and then find that I need larger file limits / more storage etc, can I upgrade straight away, or do I need to wait until the year is up? If the former, how does it work - do I pay the difference for the remainder of the year?
