i have around 60 active plugins myself and the indexing by obsidian is negligable (but can indeed be slow) if you open the app after a sync
if you delete the index or metadata cache (manually, like mentioned in dedicated thread or with the new option that i didn’t try yet), all files need to be indexed
if the latter is the case, you can do indexing with plugins turned off and it’s fast - then when the indexing is done, you turn them on – it’s done for all plugins
otherwise, it’s worthwhile to keep a copy of the community-plugins.json file in your .obsidian folder to see what was turned on if you need to turn plugins back on one by one…
finally, obsidian core indexing doesn’t start at all until community plugins that do indexing (omnisearch, dataview, obsidian query language, etc.) are not finished with what they’re doing – this freezing can be frightening for those who don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes…
