iCloud vault location

What I’m trying to do

Use Obsidian in the Apple ecosystem, across my Mac / iPhone / iPad using iCloud as the vault location. Yes, I know Obsidian sync is an option, but I’m okay with iCloud. Where should it go? I thought I left the value on my Mac in the right place, but when installing on my iPhone, it’s asking where to put a new vault and cannot find the existing one. That seems wrong.

Things I have tried

Installed Obsidian on both Mac and iPhone, and they couldn’t see each other’s vaults (which should be the same shared vault).

The only Apple product I have is an iPad but I just saved my vault on the device. I have mine saved on each of my phones, computer and iPad. You don’t save it in the cloud. The cloud is just the backup that your devices look to for updates.

I hope this helps.

Unfortunately the only iCloud location you can use on iOS is iCloud > Obsidian. (Sync your notes across devices - Obsidian Help)

To use with iOS devices, in the Finder (macOS) the path needs to be:

iCloud Drive/Obsidian/VAULT-NAME-1
iCloud Drive/Obsidian/VAULT-NAME-2
...

Here are four vaults (macOS Finder):

Which match up with Obsidian’s manage vaults screen on iOS:
