I want to manage photos using Bases.

  1. I want to “Insert a single photo into a single note (with a template applied)” for a large number of photos. So, I want to assign one note to each photo.

I implemented this feature using ChatGPT, but it’s not very good.

  1. I want to select multiple cards (notes) in the Bases card view and edit their properties (front-matter) in bulk. (Bulk editing)

I want to edit properties like “Linked Notes” and use them as tags.
What I mean is, I want to edit the properties (front-matter) of multiple cards (notes) at once.

There are some plugins trying to offer photo management

  • Binary File Manager
    • use {{LINK}} in your property together with image property in cards view (in bases)
    • latest release is from Jan 7, 2022
    • you cannot specify which folder to watch for note/file imports
  • Masonry Image Gallery
    • not published
    • fork from Image Gallery (that you can search from the plugin store)
  • Media Companion
    • it creates sidecar files for each media file
    • no folder white/black list
