What I’m trying to do

Obsidian uses the following code to embed an image, for example:

![[IMG-20190322-WA0004.jpg]]

Can anyone tell me what kind of syntax this is? Is it Markdown or a special code that is only used for Obsidian.

Because I tried to enter the code also in the Markdown editor Zettlr and there it doesn’t seem to work, although I opened the same Vault as in Obsidan where the image is.

yeah. that’s obsidian implementation. you can read it at obsidian help website (link below). anyway, you can change the settings to use standard markdown internal link instead (but that would change md files format as well.
