Hey, so I just went down a small rabbit hole with this thread “Vault file says “location is not available” and can’t be accessed after deleting it from vault selection menu” and realized one of my files had a period in it. (Which the thread mentions will break things) it was named “misc.” this caused weird issues explained in that thread, but I happened to have TWO folders named “misc.” I changed one and didn’t realize the other one was there, upon realizing it was there, I realized there was nothing in the one that was actually causing the problem, so I deleted it, however this made obsidian create a “.trash” file in my explorer containing the “misc.” folder. There is now nowhere in obsidian that I can find where I can edit the name, and the “misc.” folder is undeletable, it’s not actually causing any issues, but it’s bothering me that I have this broken folder that I cannot move or get rid of in my explorer.
Okay, even stranger development, I noticed when I was trying to delete the “misc.” folder it was giving me the explorer path to it, and it was labelled “misc” instead of “misc.” so I
Made a new folder in my vault named “misc”
Deleted that folder in the vault, this caused the “.trash” folder to have 2 folders “misc.” and “misc”
I then deleted the broken folder “misc.” which miraculously WORKED
I then tried to delete the new “misc” folder, which is now instead broken and said it wasn’t located there
Made another new “misc” folder in my vault
Deleted it in the vault, which made nothing new appear in my “.trash” folder
Deleted the “misc” folder from my “.trash” folder, and again miraculously WORKED
Left the “.trash” folder, tried to move it, error occured
I open the “.trash” folder and the original broken “misc.” folder is in there
