How to use "Outline of current plot events in order"

I am a new user to Obsidian , and i noticed in the upper right side of my notes an icon depicting three lines and if i hover them it tells me “Outline of current plot events in order” and if i click on a text that says " No headings found". Any advice as t how to use this feature ? as it would help me organize my story better.

If I understand you correctly, to use this feature you have to define headings in your note like …

# Title 

## Introduction 

## Chapter 

### Sublevel abc 

### Sublevel xyz 

## End 

Then the outline will be shown in the side pane.
