How to push updates from GIT to a custom theme

Is there any documentation on how to push updates to a theme which is already on obsidian?

I’ve pushed several updates to my theme’s GIT repo but they don’t seem to automatically get pulled by Obsidian. Do I have to add a pull request for this?

For a bit more clarity, do I need to do a pull request to do an update, and if so is there any documentation on how I should do that?

I Think I’ve figured this out now. I had to create a new release on the github repo for Obsidian to pick it up and update the theme.
