How to Automatically Insert Image Links in GitHub-Compatible Markdown Format?

Hello Obsidian Community,

I’m currently using Obsidian for note-taking, and I often include images by copying and pasting screenshots directly into my notes. By default, Obsidian inserts the image links in the format ![[filename.jpg]], which works perfectly within Obsidian but is not compatible with GitHub’s Markdown rendering.

My goal is to have Obsidian automatically insert image links in the GitHub-compatible format like this:

Image Description

This would make it much easier to push my notes to GitHub without having to manually edit the image links every time. Currently, my images are saved in a subfolder within the note’s directory, but when I push my notes to GitHub, the images don’t display correctly due to the ![[...]] format.

My Questions Are:

  1. Is there a way to configure Obsidian to automatically insert images using the GitHub-compatible format?
  2. If this isn’t possible through Obsidian’s native settings, are there any plugins or workarounds that could help achieve this?
  3. Has anyone else encountered this issue, and if so, how did you resolve it?

Thank you for your help!
