How to activate "Links with folder paths will now automatically insert an alias to the base filename (e.g. [[folder/file]] will expand to [[folder/file|file]])"

I deactivated it and now I can’t find it where to activate it again.

Pardon? What do you mean “deactivated”?

Do you mean another thread you started? I don’t see anything in your post history.

I deactivated the feature, I mean

Oh I see! I misunderstood. I am not familiar with that feature. Maybe it was a plugin?

I know Settings → Files & Links → New link format. That setting can add the folder path.

But I don’t know the setting that adds an alias automatically. Maybe try searching the plugins directory for “Alias” to see if you recognize one.

I believe that’s just Obsidian’s default behavior now, and there’s no setting to turn it off. (If there were a setting it would be in the Files & Links section.)

If you use the “Shortest path” setting shown in rigmarole’s post, the alias only gets added when you link to a note that has the same name as another note, because that’s the only time the path is used. If you use either of the other settings, aliases will always be added because paths will always be added.
