How exactly do we use aliases?

I’m still not clear on how to use aliases.

Let’s say I have the following note:

aliases: [UN]
---

# [[United Nations]]
- Lorem impsum

If I were to type [[UN]] in another document, would that automatically point to this one?

not exactly but pretty much, it will automatically expand to [[United Nations|UN]]

When you start to type `[[UN`` it will show the alias and automaticcally expland to [[United Nations|UN]]
