How do you organize notes from downloaded presentation slides?

Hi everyone,

I have been using Obsidian for a few months now, mainly for study and research notes.

One thing I still don’t have a good workflow for is presentation slides. Sometimes I download presentations from public websites using a SlideShare Downloader, then I read them and create notes in Obsidian.

The problem is that after some time I end up with many PPTs, PDFs and notes, and it becomes difficult to keep everything connected.

Right now I create one note for each presentation, but I’m not sure if this is the best way.

I’m curious how other people manage this.

Do you keep the original PPT/PDF inside your vault or outside?
Do you create one note per presentation or split it into multiple linked notes?
Do you use tags, folders, or properties for organizing presentation notes?
Any plugins that make this workflow easier?
I would really like to improve my workflow, especially when working with a large number of presentation files.

Thanks!

Just a small update after trying a few different approaches.

I started keeping the original PDF/PPT outside my vault and only storing my notes inside Obsidian. I also add the source link and a short summary at the top of each note, then split important ideas into separate linked notes instead of keeping everything on one page.

Since I often use a SlideShare Downloader for public presentations, this workflow has made it much easier to find information later without filling my vault with large files. It’s been working much better so far, but I’m still interested in hearing how others organize their presentation notes.
