So I’m using MdNotes plugin in Zotero to export bibliographic information to an Obsidian vault, and it exports links to the authors of papers. Things get complicated when two authors with the same name, say Peter J. Brown from Institute A, and Peter J. Brown from Institute B are both in my system, and they both are prolific authors. What’s the best way to deal with these two authors in either Zotero or Obsidian?
You can bulk change author values in Zotero. Not super easy but it is possible. Here is an example. You can also use aliases as one of your yaml values on export (e.g. by adding it to your mdnotes template) so that it recognizes these homonyms.
