How do I make the default template work in obsidian when creating a new note?

For the daily notes in the settings set what template will be triggered when you create a new note, but for an ordinary note how to do it?

For an ordinary note templates won’t be automatically inserted when creating the note. You can however define your desired template and, right after creating the new note, insert it by using a custom shortcut (→ see “hotkeys” in the settings).

Only exception - besides the daily notes - is the unique note creator (native) plugin. It will be created from a certain template in a specific, previously defined folder. You can also set a custom hotkey.

You can also connect templates to folders using the Templater plugin, so that notes created in a given folder gets a given template.
