What I’m trying to do
My obsidian window is usually off on some other desktop or screen and buried under other windows. I often just want to create a note and start typing. How can I create a note in a new window where I am. I know that I can switch to obsidian and then use the menus to create a new window, which will open with no note, and then I can create a new note in it.
But I would like to just be able to hit a button to do this in one go. Unfortunately I can’t find a hotkey or a command for this, which is a pretty basic endeavor for any other note-taking app.
Things I have tried
Searching the forums, I find references to commands:
- “Create note in new pane”
- “Create new unique note in new pane”
But these don’t seem to exist in Obsidian, anymore. And I can’t find anything else similar in the application either.
