I second this request.
I use Obsidian on phone/tablet 90% of time and it’s very annoying to use Edit mode with keyboard covering half of a screen, while I just want to highlight key moments from a saved article.

Exactly, as a former UX/UI designer, I heavily use obsidian in mobile devices such as ipad and iPhone. And reading in those devices are so handy, however, when it comes to Obsidian reading mode, it creates so much friction to read and highlight in Obsidian. So I moved to Readwise and highlight and export to obsidian. And this cross-platform workflow has so much friction and inflexible.
It would be great if Obsidian developers can come up with a feature that allows us to highlight in reading mode, and I think half of the Readwise users will migrate to Obsidian instead and enjoy the power of it!
