I don’t understand this feature request.

What do you mean by highlight? Are you talking about ==visually highlighting text?== or are you talking about selecting text with the cursor?

What does “The highlight tags” mean? What tags? Can you walk through an example?

Also, check your formatting. You tried to use sub-bullets, but it rendered it as a flat numbered list. You need to make sure to use at least 3 or more spaces in your sub-bullets:

  1. Highlight text in preview mode
  2. Popup with options:
    1. Highlight
    2. Create note
  3. The highlight tags are added for selected text
  4. If user use app PopClip
  1. I open any note in Preview mode
  2. I select the text
  3. In this moment small popup window should appear with options to highlight the selected text
  4. Just the == tags are added around the selected text.

It is funny I copy this lists from Obsidian.

This sounds like you are asking to edit and format content in preview mode, which is a WYSIWYG editor. This is already on the roadmap for Obsidian.

There already is a command to highlight text.

Toggle highlight for selection. You can map this to a hotkey, if it is not already mapped. Mine is mapped to Cmd-Shift-H.

Like Sam said, this only works in Edit mode.

That is not what I explained. It should work in Preview mode.

Exactly, as a former UX/UI designer, I heavily use obsidian in mobile devices such as ipad and iPhone. And reading in those devices are so handy, however, when it comes to Obsidian reading mode, it creates so much friction to read and highlight in Obsidian, No one only read and do nothing about their notes, highlight their notes while reading is just a basic feature. So I moved to Readwise and highlight and export to obsidian. And this cross-platform workflow has so much friction and inflexible.

It would be great if Obsidian developers can come up with a feature that allows us to highlight in reading/Preview mode, and I think half of the Readwise users will migrate to Obsidian instead and enjoy the power of it!

It is 3 years  Still we cannot do it. Also nobody built the plugin for this, creazy.

Lol, Maybe they are doing marketing instead of developing good features. But this simple feature worth a million and will change the whole productivity industry

I have the same problem, super annoying especially on mobile, because the keyboard is allways open when trying to highlight notes.
Probably going to switch to another program then to be able to highlight webpages without the keyboard being half of the screen.
