What I’m trying to do

I'm new to obsidian and need some advise. I'm starting a graduate psych program and was wondering how to set it up and organize a whole diagnostic manual (DSM 5-TR) into obsidian. I want to be able to later connect my notes throughout all my courses to the manual. Would it be possible to automatic it? Like using Claude or some other LLM to assist?

Also would it be worth doing?

Yes. Obsidian definetly can do it. The tough part is to develop a structure and conventions on how to structure the data.

I personally would make a template on how to structure the content of the DSM (probably looking at Zettelkasten). And then just throw the DSM (as pdf, md or word-document) and the template into any LLM and turn it into an LLM-Wiki ( What Is Andrej Karpathy's LLM Wiki? Although: Knowledge is stored better in the brain if you process it yourself. :zipper_mouth_face: But you know that.

Then you can just write notes in obsidian and connect them to the DSM-Zettels, other notes and whatever you like.
