Help - Obsidian won't open

This morning obsidian will not load after I attempted to upgrade. I see the horizontal moving lines which usually accompany loading, only they never stop.

Before installing the upgrade it was working fine.

What I’m trying to do

I am trying to load obsidian after upgrading.

Things I have tried

I have tried reinstalling obsidian from obsidian.md on my Windows 10 machine.

Is there a way to run obsidian with plugins disabled from the command line?

With Obsidian / that vault closed, you could move or rename the {VAULT-NAME}/.obsidian/community-plugins.json file. This will keep all your community plugins, but they will be disabled when you reopen the vault. This is very low impact.

If you are able to load the vault after that:

  1. Update all your community plugins.
  2. Turn one on and close-open the vault.
  3. Work for a bit.
  4. Turn one more on and work for a bit.
  5. Rinse and repeat.

You get it, but turning on one-at-a-time will make it easier for you to guess the culprit if it happens again. Everything may be fine with all your community plugins re-enabled, just a glitch, but you may have to remove that .json file again if things get jammed up a second time.

You can also check the Obsidian Discord server #insider-desktop-release channel. There’s a pinned post of the plugins currently known to be having issues with v1.7.2.

Thank you! Your solution worked - it turns out it was breadcrumbs v 3x. I look forward to its v4 being available through standard channels, but for now it is gone.
I appreciate your clear, followable help.
