Grouping and displaying related notes indepently

What I’m trying to do

I would like to take a subset of my notes and work with them as an unit. Ideally, I would like to have a File Explorer like interface that only shows the notes I’m working with, and that allows me to order them in a custom manner.

Why do I need this? I would like to be able to group notes that I’ll like to consider within a given context. The notes you might want to consider for a given subject matter or context, are typically spread all over your vault. I’d like to be able to create a group of notes that will behave sort of independant of the rest of the notes. I can add notes from the vault to the group, or remove them from the group.
Ideally I would like to reorder the notes within the group, and also be able to have sub-gruops within the group.

I’m considering writing a book, and I would like to group all the notes that I’m going to use for the book. Right now they’re all scattered in my vault, and typical methods of working with them such as tags or properties are too cumbersome.

Is there a plugin that allows you to do this?

Thanks!

I would make a note containing links to the relevant notes.

Another option would be a bookmark group.

You can also save layouts if you enable Core Plugins > Workspaces. That doesn’t directly address the issue because you probably don’t want all the relevant notes open at once, but uiu might find it useful alongside other techniques.
