What is your way of saving locations? Im looking for something that enables me to search like on google maps and then fills out a note with frontmatter containing coordinates, full address, open hours, and contact.
I tried right clicking on desktop google maps for coordinates, but filling out the frontmatter is time consuming.
Im open to suggestions, and very curious about how you save your locations in your vault.
Do you need something for offline usage?
I currently just copy/paste the share url (press the share button on google maps, then copy link). This link is short and brings you directly to the place (restaurant, hotel, attraction …) on google maps. Works okayish for me. I also sometimes copy/paste coordinates for maps (Map View plugin), but AFAIK, these maps also don’t really work offline.
The search on google maps is just so much better than every other map-search i’ve tried so far.
I personally wouldn’t copy paste too much additional info like phone number, address, opening hours, etc. This data changes often, opening hours change all the time and also consider public holidays etc. IMO, it’s better to look these things up online at the moment when you need it.
