Fully visual editor mode (WYSIWYG / WYSWYG)

I tried obsidian-wysimark but it doesn’t understand [[wikilinks]] or even stuff in simple square brackets and wants to \[ \] it all. That was a showstopper for me so I went no further with it. I tried to install one named Butter Editor but it doesn’t install.

I haven’t gone down the rabbit whole of non-approved plugins and while curious about sidestepping Obsidian with something like GitHub - oratis/Markup: A fast, native, open-source Markdown editor for macOS — read your Markdown like a web page, edit on demand. Tauri 2, vault + backlinks + full-text search. · GitHub I have a sense that anything involving file management / renaming you’d still want to use Obsidian to keep the links alive.

EDIT: Installed Butter Editor via BRAT and so far it’s pretty much nailed the solution. One immediate quibble: I can’t hide the frontmatter properties in the settings but maybe I can do that via CSS. Also it’s not free but seems worth it $16 lifetime for v1.
