Full Storage Leads to Blank File

Steps to reproduce

  1. Storage almost full (I had about 500mb remaining)
  2. Open .md file or files.

Expected result

File contents stay the same but are read-only or save does not save but file contents not deleted.

Actual result

.md files that were opened while storage was full are not blank with no contents when viewed in Obsidian or a text editor.

You should have seen some popup telling you that the files could not be saved. You can also use File Recovery plugin to restore old version of the files.

I had exactly the same on iPhone

The file went blank as the popup appeared saying that the file could not be saved because storage was full so there was no warning about the risk of data loss before the contents of the file were deleted.
