You can optionally have a link to subsubheading by either linking [[note#subsubheading]], [[note#heading#subsubheading]], [[note#subheading#subsubheading]], or [[note#heading#subheading#subsubheading]]
I’m wondering if there is a way to enforce a specific heading link style. The default in Obsidian when selecting thing from the list is to take the shortest path, [[note#subsubheading]], however it is there a way to force Obsidian to choose the full length and to warn the user if they miss one of the higher-level headers?
I do not know a built-in way to do that. Just want to share a warning using a quick example:
## a
### b
#### c
[[#b]]
[[#a#b]]
[[#a#b#c]]
Paste that in a new note, right-click heading “b”, choose Rename this heading..., and change the name to “renamed”.
Only the first link gets updated. The second and third links break.
The Rename this heading command updates links to the heading throughout your vault. The chained paths that you’re talking about do work as links and help disambiguate when multiple headings have the same name. But the rename-heading command currently doesn’t respect them.
