How would you code a plugin that helps render footnotes in the same PDF page in which they were referenced? Currently footnotes in Obsidian render in the very end of multiple-page exported PDFs. The idea is to see them in the same page, as when reading a book or a paper (picture below).
For context:
- I am writing my thesis in Obsidian. The footnotes are written after the same paragraph or set of paragraphs in which they are referenced. Regardless, they render by the end, making way less likely that the reader will ever read them. Due to the nature of the thesis, not having footnotes doesn’t seem an option.
- I have browse community plugins to do this already, and found none.
- I have never made a plugin myself (yet).
