Folding not working

What I’m trying to do

I used to be able to collapse text under headers into the header so only the header is showing. I do not seem to be able to do that anymore.

Things I have tried

I have found the setting under Editor “Fold Heading” which is on.
I found the topic under obsidian help labelled Folding, which suggests hovering over the header and clicking the arrow that appears to the left. This is what used to work, but the arrow no longer appears.
I have tried clicking where the arrow was, in case it is a graphical glitch, with no results.
Previously folded notes remain folded, but if I unfold them I cannot seem to get them to re-fold.

Some things to try

  • Create a new, blank note and type a simple heading, blank line, and one letter to see if you can fold it:

  • Open the sandbox vault on desktop or new vault in mobile. See if it works there.

    • If it does, then in your real vault, you could disable all CSS snippets, switch to the default theme, and turn on the Restricted mode setting. See if it works now.

  • See if updating both your Obsidian version and installer version fixes it.

  • Update your community theme and community plugins, if you have any that are behind, to see if that fixes it.
