I’m trying to provide more options (at least on the recording side) with the Field Recorder plugin. Features include: option to disable voice isolation and noise suppression (if your device allows this), microphone selection, output bitrate selection, waveform visualization, and duration and filesize display.
I’ve only recently submitted it to the official plugin list, so review and approval may take some time. If you’re open to installing a beta through the BRAT plugin, feedback and bug reports would be welcome in the meantime!
The option to save to the WAV format is still missing, but I know that’s important. The “easy” fix would be for the plugin to write to a platform-supported format like WebM, and then convert to WAV, but this is potentially lossy and I really don’t want to go that route. I think it’s solvable without that, but it won’t be there in v1.x. If your device supports it, you may see an option to save “WebM (PCM)” which is uncompressed — unlike “WebM (Opus)”, which is smaller.
