Feedback from an Android user: Loving the app, but struggling with lags and crashes

I just wanted to thank you guys for this incredibly powerful, free platform. Seriously, props to you for giving us access to such a masterpiece for free. There’s no doubt the app is powerful—as an Android user, everything from the deep customization to robust plugins like Dataview has been amazing to use.

But despite all these perks, the Android version has some really annoying performance issues. I’ve personally experienced the app crashing, lagging, and freezing on my phone so many times that I constantly have to force close it and restart.

I know we’re probably not supposed to run heavy tasks on Android, and honestly, I do push its limits, but there have been several times where it froze up on me literally just while I was typing, without running anything heavy at all.

I’d really appreciate it if these bugs on the Android app could get sorted out in the next update.

Unfortunately, telling a little story without any specific details is not a bug report. So your post was moved to Help

Please follow the template, and include your “Show debug info”. That would be a first step to potentially identifying what’s causing your problems.

By “push its limits”, I assume this means some combination of plugins. That info would be a good start. And also testing without community plugins is one of steps in the troubleshooting guide (which is also part of the bug report template.)
