When creating a link to a .md file sharing the same name as an extensionless file, the extensionless file is prioritised over the Markdown file and is opened in the default text editor. This is not what I expected to happen, but if this is intended behaviour, feel free to close the bug ofc.
This was discovered as part of an issue for my plugin which uses openLinkText
, but it is reproducible merely by using links on a vanilla Obsidian vault so I have decided to report it here.
Steps to reproduce
- Open sandbox vault
- Create a file in the OS file browser without an extension, but with the same name as a Markdown note
- Link to said note
- Click the link
Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? Y
Expected result
The note is opened in Obsidian.
Actual result
The external file is opened in the OS text editor.
