Use case or problem

Sometimes I want to share a note with someone for external use (assumedly outside of Obsidian). This is easy if the notes have no embedded assets (PDFs/images). But, if they have these embedded assets then a PDF export won’t include the ability to play the video, scroll through the embedded PDF, etc.

Proposed solution

Have a UI feature to export note as .zip/.tar.gz so that the markdown and all linked file resources are bundled into an object that can be shared.

Current workaround (optional)

I’m currently grabbing all assets and bundling them into zip archives manually.

I’d love to be able to achieve this as well–I wouldn’t mind resulting an export to be a folder with the md file and an assets folder, but zipping it sounds fine by me as well. I also started a reddit thread on this.
