Excluding folders from Quick Switcher also excludes them from Bases

I’m not sure if it’s a bug, but the current behavior feels more like a limitation than a feature.

I want to exclude a folder of notes from the quick switcher results while still being able to query those notes from a Base. I don’t want to pollute the search results with a lot of empty notes.

Steps to reproduce

1. Create a Base with a filter to show entries from an specific folder.
2. Go to Settings > Files and links, and add that folder to the excluded files.
   The Base no longer has access to those files. It displays nothing. That’s not expected behavior to me.

The expected behavior would be to exclude those results from the quick switcher, but still remain queryable and usable inside Bases.

I use Obsidian 1.11.4 on Windows 11.

It’s not a bug. it’s how it currently works.

Bases: Toggle to show "Excluded Files"

Use case or problem The “excluded files” option now includes a lot of different things. I use it primarily to suppress link suggestions, but I still want those files to show up in bases. Proposed solution The easiest fix would be to include a toggle in bases to show excluded files. A longer term solution may be to expand the excluded file setting to give you more control over it.
