Call outs and quotes are a bit weird like that. You need to add a new line between the callout and the next text, at least in the everbuggy preview mode.

Good:

> [!warning]
> Text

Text after a new line stands on its own

Bad:

> [!warning]
> Text
Text after a new line which gets appended to the quote above

May just be a difference in Live preview vs. Reading view. The horizontal rule is outside the callout, there’s just no margin in Live preview without a newline:

If it’s written as

> [!warning]
> Blah Blah Blah
> - - -

we can see the horizontal rule is within the callout:

I second TheBestPessimist here; when in doubt, add a newline between elements. That tends to sort things when using Markdown.

Oh! I didn’t check reading view. Thank you!
