What I’m trying to do
When have a red underlined word for spell check, I right click on it to get the spelling
The issue I have is that on MacOS the Look up “xxx” is the very top of the list
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve accidentally looked up a word when I was just trying to get the spellcheck to fix it…
My issue is that muscle memory dictates that the “replace item spelling” is the top list
On other MacOS based apps that use the built in spelling and offer the look up the look up is not at the top
This is driving me batty.
I would love to know how to remove Look up via a setting or have it turned off or just .. not at the very top of the spell check context menu where it’s so easily clickable by mistake.
I can see through [this post]( Look up words on Mac - #26 by WhiteNoise ) that the lookup feature was added by request.
Not throwing shade on anyone who likes the feature but it’s making Obsidian spell check really painful for me when on MacOS (I recently began migrating from Windows to Mac)
Things I have tried
I’ve tried disabling services in the mac
I’ve tried turning off lookup stuff in keyboard shortcuts and trackpad options
I tried a customize menu plugin in obsidian hoping to be able to hide it - nothing works
What I’m asking
If there were a setting for MacOS spell check to disable Look Up
or
if the Look Up could be moved BELOW the spelling suggestions / add to dictionary section
or
if anyone has any way to disable /hide/remove the Look up “xxx” right click context
