{{date}} not expanded in daily note template

Steps to reproduce

Create a template for daily notes containing # {{date}} and set this as the default template in the daily note settings.

Expected result

A new daily note with a heading corresponding to the current date.

Actual result

A daily note with the literal heading # {{date}}

Environment

  • Operating system: macOS 10.15.7
  • Obsidian version: 0.9.10

Additional information

Manually selecting the template once the note has been created results in the expected behavior.

Thanks – using {{date:YYYY-MM-DD}} instead of {{date}} works for me.
