Dataview not indexing new tasks on iOS

I’ve recently started playing around with Obsidian and dataview, and moving my note-taking and task management over to this system.

Yesterday I set up a page with a dataview query that would show me all the incomplete task items in my vault, across all my notes, to do lists etc (apart from those I’d tagged #notask because I didn’t want them to show up in this list).

Here’s the query:

TASK
FROM -#notask
WHERE !completed
GROUP BY file.link
SORT file.cdate ASC

It was all working fine on my laptop yesterday. And it appears to be working fine on my phone today - except that when I create a new note with task items, they don’t appear in the dataview query. So anything that was indexed yesterday when I set things up on my macbook shows up on my phone, but new notes with task items that I create on my phone today don’t show up.

Can anyone advise? Am I doing something wrong here, or is just an issue with Obsidian on iOS?

Thanks for your help!

On your phone, have you updated your version of Dataview?

After you create a new note, what happens if you wait 60 seconds on your note with the Dataview query? Does it show up after waiting?

What happens if you restart Obsidian on your phone? Does it show up then?

OK restarting obsidian seems to have fixed it!

I experience frequent indexing stoppages on my iPad as well. Force quitting / restarting fixes it for a short period each time (a day or two at most). I’m running the most recent version of the iOS app, plus the most recent versions of the plugins I use.
