Hi, I’m starting a new research project in obsidian. Previously I’ve used Excel/Scrivener, but it seems like Obsidian should be able to handle what I’m trying to do.
One thing I’m missing, though, is data validation. For instance, when I add front matter for “publication”, I’d like to limit entries to a defined list so that they are well-organized. Or “date”, I’d like to keep a universal format. Obviously I try to do this manually but when you collect a couple hundred sources it becomes impossible.
The end goal is to use bases and/or dataview to quickly sort and filter.
Is there any current solution? Yes, I am using templates to create standard fields. Thank you.
