Ctrl+o open note and jump to the corresponding folder on the left sidebar

Hi all,

I use Ctrl+o quite often to quickly jump to a note. Often this is one note of many in a project folder. While working on the note it is quite likely that I also need some of the other notes in the same folder.

Therefore it would be really nice if Ctrl-o would not only opens the markdown file but also navigates in the left sidebar to the folder where the file is located.

Is there a setting/plugin to achieve this?

Thanks a lot!

If you click on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the workspace, you open the context menu and there you’ll find Reveal file in navigation.
I don’t think there is an easy way to automatically achieve this as it would need some event listener in the background. Maybe worthy of a Feature requests post, to have this happen automatically.

There is a new feature since 1.8. The button is at the top of the Files pane. This will jump to the active file (Ctrl-o or any other method.)

New to me!
Pretty cool.

Although I have most of my folders hidden in the Files pane…
But I didn’t have it activated. Did now for the fun of it.

I don’t use it because it expands each folder as it reveals it.

But I have long used Quick Explorer which adds a breadcrumb path to the bottom. And you can click on that (or use commands/hotkeys) to navigate from any level of the path. (Although I never actually do. I kinda forgot it was there!)

Ah, okay.
And I hardly use the same thing in what Settings > Appearance > Obsidian Frame gets me.
