What I’m trying to do
When I’m on a long note and want to jump at the beginning, I hit [Ctrl + Home]
, but the cursor jumps in a line under the title. No matter what is there (subtitle, empty, …). I wouldn’t say that this is a bug … found this …
Since a few weeks the Home key has an (for me) unexpected behaviour on my PC:
Pressing the home key when the cursor is on an empty line causes the cursor to jump to beginning of the document.
Pressing home on a line with text works as expected: the cursor is then moved to the beginnin of the line. Even pressing home again then works as expected: nothing happens.
This sounds like minor issue, but somehow drives me nuts. I am so used to using the Home key for quickly jumping to t…
I wonder if there is a way to make it so that I jump into the title. Actually, I don’t need to be in the title; it’s just that the title is one line up - hidden. So, I need to scroll/move the cursor to see the title.
Things I have tried
Hit Ctrl + Home
37 times … searching the forum, Google-it and went through the command pallet …
Cheers, Marko
That is correct the filename/title is not part of the main editor area. If you wanna edit the title you can use the command pallet command or press F2

Language barriers … I don’t need to edit the title, I want to see it when clicking the button combination Ctrl + Home
.
Now, if I’m at the bottom of the note and click Ctrl + Home
, it takes me to the top, as you @WhiteNoise mentioned, “main editor area”. So I see this …
above the cursor is the title
But what I want, when I click Ctrl + Home
(or any other command/hotkey), to see this …
Currently, to see this, I need to press Arrow Up
or Page Up
… after Ctrl + Home
As I said, it’s not preventing me from working with Obsidian; it’s just one of those “nice to have/know” things

Interesting - in Reading mode, it jumps to the top of the note (including the title).
I’m guessing it is because the title is part of the metadata in Markdown. So I need to find a way to record Ctrl + E + Ctrl + Home + Ctrl + E
