Steps to reproduce

Open an obsidian note (make sure no other panes are open). Ctrl+click on a link in that note. A new pane will open to the right. Now Ctrl+click on a link in that pane. As you can see, this action does not open up a 3rd pane. It simply takes you to a new location in the 2nd pane.

Expected result

I think that Ctrl+clicking on a link should open up a new pane, regardless of which pane you’re clicking in.

  • Operating system: Windows 10
  • Obsidian version: Obsidian 0.8.14

I think that’s the functionality of Ctrl+Shift+Click. The reason it works with Ctrl+Click is because your first pane is probably pinned.

There is a chance that this is not bug, because the following still works on my 0.8.14 win10.

what Ctrl Click does
Link is in Preview mode = To open in new pane
Link is in Edit mode = To open in current/same pane

Tested and found that the key is all mighty key. It opens in new pane under all conditions: preview / edit / pinned / unpinned. I need to remem one key only.
