Core Search Plugin Statements Formatting

My search statements and criteria are getting complex and lengthy. They function really well.

Is there a way to format and wrap the text in the space that holds the statement and criteria?

Embedded search code blocks allow for this, but with recent Search and Bookmark functionality, I’d like to move away from embeds.

Something akin to the way the Explain text is displayed and outlined would be fabulous.

The closest thing I know is a community plugin called Vantage which provides a GUI to build your search query.

In the core search box, pressing Return just submits the search and pasting multi-line text converts it to a single line.
