Copying embedded blocks (cards) in a Canvas Group and pasting into a file

Use case or problem

I’m copying and pasting blocks into a Canvas group and wondering if there’s a way to select and copy the embedded blocks so I can paste them into a separate file. I believe each pasted block of text (that links back to the original file) is a card in canvas. While I can click on each individual card to convert into a file, I can’t figure out if there’s a way to:

• select a group of cards (the blocks that I pasted into the group) and convert the selected cards into one file
• copy an individual card to paste into a file without clicking into the card
• turn the entire contents of a group in canvas into a file

Ultimately my goal is to be able

1. Turn an entire group into a file and then work with the content of that group in the file so I can further organize the content
2. Select numerous cards in a group and paste them into a file without having to click within each card

I know that I can turn each individual card into a file but that would not be helpful in this use case.
