Use case or problem
On desktop, hotkeys assigned to “Toggle left sidebar” and “Toggle right sidebar” cause the sidebars to remain in place after they appear. On mobile, these same hotkeys cause the sidebars to appear as modal overlays that are dismissed as soon as you try to do something. To prevent that behavior, you must manually pin the sidebar (which there is no available keyboard shortcut for), but doing so causes the hotkey for toggling the sidebar to no longer work until you manually un-pin it again. This makes it unreasonable to quickly show or hide both sidebars via keyboard shortcuts on mobile tablets.
Proposed solution
Make “Toggle left sidebar” and “Toggle right sidebar” behave on tablet-size mobile devices the same way they do on desktop.
