Confused where to start

I’ve wanted to get into obsidian for a long time, but I’ve been confused about where to start, IMF method, PARA method the MOCs and the numbering systems, all seems so great, but I’m wondering what structure I should use and how to stay motivated to commit, and what kind of things would be good for taking notes off of.

I would suggest you to start with notes and linking them. When notes are enough in numbers and linked together in clusters it would give you and idea from where to go. When I started using obsidian I was not concerned about the structure. I was concerned about the information storage at one place.

What kind of stuff is good for noting?

I think that you will need structure when you have too many notes to manage.
So, you can simply start without almost anything
When you begin to have a large number of notes, you will also have enough experience to start creating structure

So, if you are confused how to start, simply write now. Maybe mimic what you already have done until now, into Obsidian, developing the practice with the tool. While you are writing, start to document yourself, very calmly and without anxiety, on some technique

Notetaking systems are built day by day and they change frequently, they don’t born fully formed at day one.

I suggest you learning how to format text, how to make links, how to make headings, how to insert images. Taking practice with the tool, writing your content in the most direct way.
Maybe even having taken 100 notes you still don’t need a complex structure, only a bunch of folders or a couple of lists
