Combining Unicode characters (below only, not above) are not actually combining and instead appearing as separate characters

Steps to reproduce

This happens in all of the following cases:

  1. copy and paste a combination of a character and a combining (below) character from another application
  2. type in the combining character using a MacOS text replacement
  3. insert the combining character from the Character Viewer palette

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

Yes

Expected result

There should be one character with a combining symbol directly below: n̥ n̩ t̪ .

Actual result

The combining character is shifted to the right and seems to be treated as a separate symbol when selecting or deleting text.

Other applications (BBEdit, iA Writer, Pages, etc.) display the same text correctly, even if copied from Obsidian and pasted into the other application. Changing fonts has no effect in Obsidian.
