Click to load external content (images, embeds etc.)

I’m looking for a plugin or a setting to make all external content click-to-load, instead of loading automatically.

For example if you clip an article from the web and it has an ![image](https://some.site/path/to/image.jpg) or a YouTube embedded video. I don’t want Obsidian to hit the network and load the content, unless I specifically click on a placeholder. Should be labeled something like Click to load external content

Current workarounds:

  • Comment out all external content in the note. Too tedious
  • More options (the ⋮ button) > Source mode. Can’t use in Reading mode
  • Firewall rule for Obsidian executable. Would break Obsidian and other plugin features

I feel like this would also be really useful in case you want to easily delete an attachment (like an image) via shortcut. I have cmd-shift-/ as a command to quickly delete a note (i take lots of fleeting notes and import jpg exports from handwritten quick notes on my iPad, so once I’m done using them, I want them done as quickly as possible)

Did you mean to comment on a different thread?

uhhh. yeah. damn
