Hi, these can both be done from the account pages on Obsidian.md and the forum. Just a heads up, our forum uses a separate account system than our website (obsidian.md), so you’ll need to change both.

What I’m trying to do

So, I am assuming that there is some place on the forum site that will tell me how to change my email address. This is contrary to what has been said in other posts.

If I am asking at the wrong forum since there seem to be two of them, please tell me the URL where I should be going.

Which email are you trying to change? There are 2 options:

  1. This forum → You can get to your preferences by clicking on your name and following the menu. Or go straight to https://forum.obsidian.md/u/ellenmad/preferences/account

There you will see your email and a little wrench. The wrench lets you change your email.

  1. Your Obsidian app account → Go to the Obsidian website at https://obsidian.md/

In the top right corner, is “Account”. My account - Obsidian
Once you are logged in, you should see “Change email” as an option.

And remember, the forum, and the Obsidian official website have completely different passwords. If you forgot your password on the website, you’ll have to use the “Forgot your password?” link to reset it.
