Change Editor mode switch from menu to 3-way toggle

I would like to suggest to change the drop down menu available from status bar to 3-way toggle button which will iterate between modes. This ways the interaction can be much quicker and muscle memory bases.

As an extra, add an option to select with modes user want to use in settings.

Hmm I would think that muscle memory would suggest not to have buttons that depend on current state. Muscle memory would tell you exactly where to click and how many times to get what you want. No?
